The “Rec.” has served as the center of many recreational and social activities in the Woodstock area since 1946. We are a non profit, private 501 C3 organization, with some tax support from the Town of Woodstock. Our two outdoor swimming pools are open from mid June to late August. We offer Red Cross certified lessons, as well as other pool related programs. We also have an outdoor basketball court next to the Rec. Located next to the Rec is the Little Theatre. Many organizations utilize the building for special events, dances, live performances, films and other large group meetings. Use of our facilities may be made by contacting the Recreation Center office. The Recreation Center is responsible for the scheduling and upkeep of Vail Field, the Town's athletic and activities field, located on South Street. We utilize the field as well as both the Elementary and Union High School’s fields and gyms for many of our activities. We feel very fortunate to have access to these multiple facilities, making possible the many programs we provide for the larger community of the Union School District, and even beyond.
