Membership Pause Policy for Woodstock Recreation Center
Purpose of the Policy
Membership pauses are intended to support members during extended, unavoidable absences such as medical issues or seasonal travel. They are not designed for short trips, vacations, or intermittent use. This ensures fairness to all members, supports stable program funding, and keeps membership rates affordable for the community.
Eligibility for Pausing a Membership
Members may request a temporary pause under the following circumstances:
- Medical Emergency or Health-Related Leave — A pause may be granted when a member is unable to use the facility due to injury, surgery, or a medically documented condition.
- Seasonal Absence — A pause may be granted when a member leaves the area for an extended, continuous period (e.g., the full winter or summer season).
Short-term travel, vacations, or occasional time away do not qualify for a membership pause.
Limits on Pause Frequency and Duration
- Members may pause their membership up to two times per calendar year.
- Each pause must be for a minimum of one full month.
